Course 2014

Rekreatur 2014 will for the first time in its history cross the Slovenian border. There are two reasons why.
FIRST
For the last seven years Rekreatur managed to conquer most of the Slovenian roads. Only the Gorenjska and Carinthia regions were not well frequented. It’s quite a distance to cycle all the way from Carinthia to Kranj, so we have chosen the Gorenjska region instead as a starting point and Kranjska Gora as the base. The town offers lots of different accommodation and means one less headache for us organisers!
SECOND
We believe we are experienced and confident enough to offer Rekreatur to foreign tourists now. We want Rekreatur to become an international event which will attract cyclists to Slovenia and show them the amazing potential for beautiful cycling trips in Slovenia. Our first step towards ‘going international’ (a quite amusing step, in fact), was the start-number drawing for RR 2013.

The entire course is, as every year, divided into prologue, 1st stage, 2nd stage and 3rd stage. For the total distance covered, this will be the most everage Rekreatur to date. You will do 346,90 km, 3436 m ascents and will spend about 18 hours on your bike (in four days of course :))
